Nanocrystalline cores
Nanocrystals are crystals that measure less than 100 nanometers in at least one dimension. The smallest basic component of nanocrystals is called microcrystals or grains. Materials with nanocrystals distributed everywhere and therefore significantly different properties are called nanocrystalline materials. Semiconductor nanocrystals smaller than 10 nm in size are sometimes referred to as quantum dots.
Nanocrystalline materials have many unique and useful properties. In recent decades, the unique mechanical, chemical, electrical and quantum properties of nanocrystalline materials have promoted great technological progress, and it seems that it is expected to promote more technological progress in the next few years.
